Week Four

WeeK Four of holding myself accountable

Week Four.

Okay, she was a weird week last week. A mix of inspo, productivity, exhaustion, procrastination, a bit of home and a bit of Camden.

Started out the week in the Country with Haz and bubs, chillin like villains. Back to the city on tuesday and straight to the gym - I was DETERMINED. This was the week that would change everything.

ALAS. Whilst Tuesday was incredibly productive, Wednesday had a 5am start with a Blood Mary as I joined my former Team New Zealand to farewell my Dad after 40,000 in Executive Search. This led to another Bloody Mary and a couple of Aperols in Camden where I found Nadia's stall and the most AMAZING earring that no doubt you will see in images and videos to come. God I love Camden!

From there home to do some singing practice and a couple of calls back to the homeland because the homesickness was in full swing and there was no stopping it.

The next day, went and saw Faulty Towers. The nostalgia was real. Basil was brilliant. The whole cast actually! An amazing show and a nice change of pace seeing a comedic play rather than something truly depressing or a musical - both of which I have also been enjoying!!

Back to the gym and produtivity for Thursday and Friday.

Saturday was out to Epping Forests for a nature walk and some incredible seafood. If you are an Oyster lover you must head out there - Irish Oysters and the best oysters I have ever had - partnered with a very impressive seafood platter, an Aperol and a lot of Joy. Shoutout to William for introducing me to a nicer side of Essex than I've seen before!

Sunday was me sorting out my shit - CHORES. SHOPPING. MEAL PREP. SCHEDULING.

Gearing up for the week ahead and then a spontaneous trip out exploring a couple of pubs in the evening around King's Cross.

Next week is going to be a lot more focused. Having glanced through my bank accounts it's definitely going to need to be. Also need to find some side hustles to start feeding into rent and things so that the numbers stop just steadily reducing!

Anyway - onwards and upwards! See you next week.

Acting

Faulty Towers at The Apollo

Inspired by some amazing comedic actors watching Faulty Towers at The Apollo. Highly recommend. It's nice to remember that good art doesn't always have to be painful, sometimes it can just be a fucking good time with people who good at their craft and can bring a smile to your face.

Getting the old body back up to snuff.

Body and voice, right? As actors we are told that these are our tools and to keep them sharp. Well I've let both slide. For the last few months I have been working to get my body back into working order. At 30, things don't quite bouce back the way they used to and that has been a sobering realisation.

But a combo of running, weights and a consistent diet (plus last week's cleanse) means that I have lost 4kgs, am feeling stronger and healthier and don't feel like such a piece of shit tbf.

I don't know about you guys but when I'm feeling a bit overweight, and I'm not exercising I get a bit dark, a bit moody and my confidence drops.

So that's been a focus. This is a continued focus, but just wanted to call it out bc I'm happy that I'm finally starting to see some progress.

Singing

Cheryl Porter continues...

Turns out my diaphragm is weaker than my ability to say no to "shall we get one more?" at the pub and so am continuing my strengthening exercises for another week to make sure I'm building a strong foundation going forward.

Definitely have lost some power over the last couple years without regular practice. Feels good feeling the progress.

Singing practice

Right. I have a song. It's in good shape. It's coming to you this week with new hair and a new attitude.

Prepare yourselves.
