Week Two

Week Two of holding myself accountable.

The week of agency reach out prep.

This week has been a journey.

I think what I've realised is I need to be more organised. Making content is no joke and whilst I think I'm out there videoing every second of everyday like a full blown influencer, in reality I forget to take photos, my videos come in sporadic and mildly manic streams and then silence and it's Wednesday and I'm writing my weekly update about holding myself accountable.

I've been seeing a lot of things online about using AI to schedule your time and I think this is a bandwaggon I will be jumping on next week. Not this week because this coming week (which is actually currently this week)...

Good lord. Get it together Olivia!

However, manic scheduling and sporadic capturing aside I've completed a bunch of classes and am ready to draft my accent real so I can reach out to agents next week (this week) for ROUND TWO.

Wish me luck!

We had a handful of rejections and a chorus of crickets last time so I'm hoping that the accent reel might bring a bit more interest - plus having more recent footage than my professional reel could only help... right? Right. If not then I welcome any other suggestions for Round Three!

But yes, successful week! Classes, country, opera, a lot of singing practice and my first social posts!!! FINALLY.

So we're getting there.

Somehow my ten years of working in corporate with a finely tuned calendar seem to have rendered me useless in organising my own time. I know I did have a productive week last week but good god knows what I bloody well did.

Anyway, next week/this week is going to be more organised god damnit. I have until Saturday to sort my shit when I'm heading back out to the country.

Three days of absolutely killing it.

GO AND DO.

Acting

First class at Mixing Networks

Did the Check-In which was heaps of fun and a different script from a new BBC cop show. Had a lot of fun changing up emotional energies in my Kiwi accent.

Another Lonesome Screen Acting Class

Keeping sharp with this as a fun end to the week with Finella. Working on pulling together an accent reel for Agent reach-outs this coming week!

Online Q&A with Faye Timby-Taylor

Faye is a London-based Casting Director. A really useful hour-long session getting some insights into the casting process and local market. A bit sobering as you realise the magnitude of submissions they receive, but even more reason to practice and become so great that you stand out from the thousands of peeps they see everyday.

Singing

Week 2 of Cheryl Porter Course

She looks so nice but her exercises are killer. I am STRUGGLING. But it's already made a difference to my vowel placement and breath control - A bloody nice refresher and a lot more affordable for a member of the unemployed artist club.

Inspired evening @ the Opera

Went to see Garsington Opera's performance of Rodalinda. My first time as an Adult seeing opera and left feeling in awe and very inspired. I only took videos so the only picture I got was of these deer over the other side of the field that I took to send to E so he knows there is a lot of hunting to do over here...

Started rehearsing some songs for socials

Choosing some songs I love to sing and rehearsing them with a proper warm up and practicing proper vowel placement and breathing rather than just going hammer and tongs on them. Coming soon.... Rehearsals are usually done sans makeup due to the fact that London water is making me break out like a sixteen year old so I have recruited AI to generate an image of pretty much what I look like when I rehearse...
